Archivi Ritrovati – Rediscovered Archives, 2nd Edition

“Archivi Ritrovati” is Carla Cantore’s curatorial project as part of MIPphest 2026, the 10th International Festival of Photography and Visual Arts, whose theme this year is “Fluid Horizons”. The artistic director is Antonello Di Gennaro.

On show are photographs, publications, little-known works and unexpected finds from the MIP collection – not to retell a finished story, but to see what happens when images and documents from different times and contexts are placed side by side.

The photographers represented include Henri Cartier-Bresson, Luigi Ghirri, Gabriele Basilico, Mimmo Jodice, Olivo Barbieri, Guido Guidi, Mario Cresci, Vincenzo Castella, Giovanni Chiaramonte, Folco Quilici and Claude Nori, along with many younger names.

Opening hours: 9 am to 1 pm and 3 to 5 pm. Admission is free. The exhibition is part of the programme of “Matera, Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue 2026”.
