The house stands on a paved lane in the Sassi: a building of pale tufa blocks with a green wooden door, a lantern and two small olive trees in terracotta pots by the entrance. Inside it spreads over several levels, linked by a stone staircase beneath round arches.

Living. The living room lies under a vault of exposed tufa: a large pale sofa, two armchairs, a round table on a jute rug, a niche with a wall light. The French window opens straight onto the terrace, with a view of the old town and the cathedral bell tower.

Bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom with double bed, bedside tables and wall niche also has a stone vault and a French window onto the balcony with the same view. The bathroom is laid with large stone tiles, with a walk-in shower behind glass, a countertop basin on a stone slab and a backlit mirror.

Kitchen. Beneath a whitewashed vault: a kitchen with oven and gas hob, open wooden shelves, a long wooden table with six chairs under two pendant lamps. The window looks out over the Sassi.

Outdoors. The terrace is shaded by a reed pergola and has room for a table with six chairs. There is also a small courtyard between tufa walls with a cushioned bench, an olive tree and a lantern – and a stone arch framing a view across the whole old town. In the evening the Sassi in front of the house glow golden.

Location. The rock churches of the Sasso Caveoso, Piazza San Pietro Caveoso and the restaurants of the old town are within walking distance. Cars cannot reach the door – the lanes of the Sassi are steep and paved.
